Most Colorful Fall Foliage Trees
Many people would agree that one of the best things about the fall season is the transformation that takes place with the beautiful trees. The leaves and fall foliage go from green to a vast array of bright colors, reminding us how lovely nature can be.
Here is a list of five trees that have a fantastic display in the fall:
1. Maple Trees
Maple trees have a reputation for being bright and colorful around this time of the year. As the time of the season passes, maple tree leaves show a brilliant display of bright colors. These tall trees can reach up to 75 feet high! Whether they are grouped or stand-alone, the gorgeous shades of red, orange, and yellow are sure to make you feel warm and inspired.
2. Katsura Trees
During the summer, the rounded leaves of this tree grow in full and plentiful. The leaves provide right shade from the sun, but that is not all. When the fall season comes and the leave change, the colors become a beautiful pink-yellow tint. Standing tall and firm, the colorful display of Katsura trees encourage us to take a moment to enjoy the natural beauty.
3. Redbud Trees
Like many of the trees on this list, Redbud trees don’t wait until the fall to show their beauty. In the spring, they sprout pretty flowers before the leaves come in. The leaves, in the shape of hearts, only add to their prettiness.
When the fall comes, the leaves on this small tree turn a bright yellow color that distinguishes it from the rest. Be on the look-out for the less common variety of Redbud, affectionately known as a “forest pansy.” The leaves on that tree transform into a reddish-purple color.
4. Pomegranate
Pomegranates may be known as “Chinese apples,” but, thankfully, these trees are not exclusive to China. This lovely tree is sure to be appreciated wherever it is grown.
It is important to note that all pomegranate trees do not produce edible fruit. However, don’t let that deter you from bringing this small tree into your life. Pomegranate tree leaves turn a beautiful yellow color that is sure to be a conversation starter. The reddish-pink spheres of pomegranate fruit decorate the tree naturally.
5. Dogwood Trees
No list of colorful trees would be complete without mentioning Dogwoods! These thick trees show themselves to be a lovely sight for most of the year.
In the spring and summer, their branches become full of flower blossoms which is an extraordinary sight. However, the fall season is when Dogwood trees shine. The leaves turn a deep red color – close to the color of red wine. There’s also a bonus to the beauty found in the berries that also grow among the leaves.
These red berries grow in clusters and will stay on the tree until the birds devour them. And, once all the colors have fallen away, Dogwood trees still have a beautiful silhouette that is like nothing else.
That completes this list of beautiful trees, but there are much more available. Fall foliage is all around us. You’re sure to see something beautiful just by walking outside.
