Product Description

Why the Murray Cypress is the Best Privacy Tree

As a planet, the need to become more responsible has risen, and people want to make things better. In design and landscape, trees play a huge role in bringing an aesthetic to life while still being environmentally friendly. Whatever your need might be, we have one of the best trees for you. Also known as the 'Privacy Trees,' the Murray Cypress, X Cupressocyparis leylandii, is one of the best bets you can make for your compound. This is the best and most widespread variant of the Leyland cypress, so you can be assured that Leyland's best qualities are part and parcel of the Murray Cypress. Some of them include leafy and thick foliage, a high growth rate, and high tolerance to pests, diseases, and low temperatures. There could be a blizzard blowing houses apart, and the Murray Cypress would still be standing tall amid it all.

The trees belong to the Cupressaceae and fall under the Cupressus genus. If you think this is one of those pine trees that grow slenderly into the sky, you're slightly wrong. The tree is known to grow at most 50 meters tall but is anything but slender. They boast of a spread of 12 meters, which makes them a perfect privacy tree, mainly if you plant them in a row. They live an impressive 50 years when taken care of, which is a fabulous time if you want to plant them on land you own. As mentioned, the tree has a fast growth rate, which is about 3 or 4 feet per year. This is extraordinary for a privacy tree, which is why it is a favorite among many.

How to care for the Murray Cypress

The tree is low maintenance after it becomes set. There are some requirements that you need to stick to to ensure that they live. Regular watering is needed in the initial days, particularly in the first three months. The weekly dose sounds fine to keep the plant working. You should check the soil to get an indication of the moisture. Only take a shovel, dig 4 inches deep close to the base and feel the dirt. Dry soil is a warning that the plant requires water. For volume, 1 gallon per foot of height is appropriate for the plant. Ensure that you are careful and keep the soil in check to prevent overwatering. If you notice the soil getting soggy, will the amount of water.

The evergreen canopy of the plant requires sufficient water even during fall. During the first three months after planting, frequent watering is needed. After that, the root system will have grown, and the baby tree will be mature enough to withstand a little neglect. The trees are known for their hardiness for the cold. They do well in areas with a temperature range of -21 to 2 degrees centigrade. This is the 6 to 10 USDA growth zone.

The Murray Cypress trees require full sun or partial shade.

Complete exposure to the sun for at least 6 hours is essential to ensure healthy foliage. The 6 hours don't always have to be continuous. The tree also does well with some shade for 4 to 6 hours. However, this is not an optimal circumstance. When the trees have grown, they get tall enough to get the sunshine they want without hindrance. The trees take well to any moisture level, so you do not have to worry about that. If you have any doubts, this guide will help you know that Murray Cypress is essentially one of the best choices you could make for your home.

The Murray Cypress are shipped bare root for easy installation, and are 1-2 feet tall at time of shipment.

    Beautiful condition

    Mar 08, 2022 Reviewer: Eric

We received 5 Murray cypress trees in the mail ~ 1 foot tall. All were lush green and very healthy on arrival, and wrapped carefully for protection inside a "triangular tube" package. I appreciated this level of attention to preparing the plant for transport. I've since planted them and the roots were in very good condition. It appeared there was a gel-like substance, perhaps used for hydration. I hope to nurse these little blokes to maturity and that they live for many, many years. Will definitely buy again from you guys.
