Named for the bird that feasts on its berries, partridge berry vines are trailing evergreen plants with fragrant white flowers that appear in pairs. The flowers are from 1/2 to 2/3 inch long and are tubular, with four lobes. They are fringed within. The flowers are not sexed and appear in June and July. The plant’s botanical name is Mitchella repens.
